E-Merge: Evening Workshop for Adults

E-Merge is a four-week course led by the collaborative efforts of an artist and an art historian and offers students with different levels of experience an in-depth look at the Modern’s exhibitions. This informative class combines art historical discussion of works in the galleries with short, hands-on studio projects. The E-Merge program will explore concepts presented in the Modern’s fall exhibition lineup, including Vernon Fisher: K-Mart Conceptualism and the permanent collection. Educator Evening in the Cultural District
Thursday, September 23, 2010
4-7pm

Participating institutions in the Cultural District open their doors to area educators for this annual event. Teachers are invited to join Museum staff and volunteers to inaugurate the 2010-2011 school year and learn about programs available for educators and students, participate in gallery tours, gather complimentary resources, and enjoy refreshments. In addition to providing information about our programming, this year the Modern is proud to host to the Botanical Research Institute of Texas, who will have information about their programs and facility available throughout the evening. Don't miss this opportunity to connect with Cultural District institutions and colleagues from across the metroplex!

Custom Teacher In-Services

The Education Department at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth is dedicated to providing opportunities for educators to develop a deeper understanding of modern and contemporary art, and connect with the Museum as a resource for the classroom through creative programming. The Modern offers tailored workshops, by request, for area art and art history educators from all grade levels. In-services revolve around the Museum’s current exhibition, providing an in-depth, unique learning experience. During each customized workshop, educators spend time in the galleries with Museum staff addressing a variety of topics, including formal issues, historical connections, social context, the artist’s background, and interpretation of the artwork; sessions also include a studio and/or writing segment that emphasizes ideas central to the artwork in the galleries.

Please call Erin Starr White (817.840.2118 or email estarr@themodern.org) for more information.

Educator Art Cards
