Drawing from the Collection for Children
This FREE gallery program is designed for children between the ages of 6 and 12, and is offered on the first Sunday of each month when gallery admission is free. (Children under the age of 6 must be accompanied by an adult.) The program is led by an artist who takes participants through informal drawing exercises in relation to works in the Modern’s collection. Bring a sketchbook and pencils or purchase materials from The Modern Shop. Attendance is limited to 20 participants, so arrive early to sign up at the information desk to ensure your space.
Class is closed to additional participants after 2 pm.

Wonderful Wednesdays
Wonderful Wednesdays is a free program for families of all ages and is designed as an informal introduction to the Modern's collection and special exhibitions. Led by a docent, the program focuses on a select number of works in the collection and includes a gallery project designed by the Museum's education department. Registration is not required. The sign-up sheet is located at the front desk the day of the program. Infants, toddlers, and strollers are allowed. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

Teen-Artist Project
The Modern’s Teen-Artist Project pairs teenagers with artists as teachers. Throughout the program, students learn about modern and contemporary art in the galleries, work on related art projects in the Museum studio, and visit local museums and galleries. Students meet at the Museum on most Sundays, November through May, from 2 to 5 pm. The program is free, and all high school students who want to learn more about visual art are invited to apply. A maximum of 22 dedicated, hardworking, and creative students will be accepted to participate in the program based on their application, accompanying materials, and interviews with Museum staff. Students are required to make a serious commitment to the program and attend class regularly. Applications for the 2009-2010 school year are due October 1, 2009, and are available at www.themodern.org.
Tours
Tours led by Museum-trained docents provide a dynamic experience based on close viewing, analysis, and interaction. All tours are free for Modern members and free to the public with admission to the galleries. All group tours must be scheduled at least two weeks in advance of the requested date. Public Tours
Docent-led tours are offered Tuesday through Sunday at 2 pm. On Wednesdays and the first Sunday of each month, when gallery admission is free to the public, tours are available at 11 am and 2 pm. These tours do not require prior arrangements and begin in the museum lobby.
Spanish-language Tours
Docent-led tours in Spanish are offered at 2 pm on the first Sunday of each month, when gallery admission is free. These tours are open to the public and do not require prior arrangements. Docents are also available to conduct private Spanish-language tours when reservations are made at least two weeks in advance.
